The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the domestic launch of HASAMI PORCELAIN. To celebrate this, the project 'ART MUG' was launched to explore new possibilities for art and mugs. The base is a medium-sized mug (white body). 

Artist_ Yuichi Yokoyama 

Tokyo-based artist and manga artist, born 1967 in Miyazaki Prefecture. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting. Produced fine art, but from 2000 onwards began to publish manga as a way of 'expressing time'. His original works, which were later referred to as 'neo-manga', have been highly acclaimed in various fields. Currently, he is also active as a contemporary artist. His works include New Civil Engineering, Travel, NIWA, Baby Boom, Between the World Map (above, East Press), Outdoors (Kodansha), Room (Hamonica Books), and Yuichi Yokoyama Colour Art Collection (Blue Mark) as an art collection (Blue Mark). His works have also been translated and published in Europe and the USA.

Message from Yuichi Yokoyama

The design of the mug is from a cartoon called 土木⑤, which was published 20 years ago in a magazine called “広告” and was about modern architecture, and the reason why it is horizontal is unknown at the time the magazine was published. I wouldn't do such a thing nowadays, but I named the characters and included an introduction to the characters. The product name “ボコ/Boko", taken from an onomatopoeia in the story.
